Brock Lesnar - Ultimate Fighter

Brock Lesnar began his wrestling career at Webster High School in South Dakota.  His senior year he had a perfect 33-0 record and earned himself a full scholarship to The University of Minnesota after a stop at junior college.  Lesnar was the 2000 NCAA heavyweight champion and finished his college career with an impressive 106-5 record.

In 2000, not long after finishing college, Lesnar signed up with the WWF to try and become a professional wrestler.  Early in 2002, Lesnar made his television debut for the WWF and became an immediate fan favorite.  Three years later he would be crowned WWF heavyweight champion.

After reigning atop the professional wrestling world for a few years, Lesnar decided to try and become a professional football player and was given a tryout by the Minnesota Vikings.  He was cut before the regular season started, but he was offered a spot on the Vikings’ NFL Europe team, which he declined.

In April of 2006 Lesnar announced plans to become a professional fighter at a K-1 event in Las Vegas.  His first professional fight was June 2, 2007 against Choi Hong-Man.  Lesnar won the fight in just over a minute.

Lesnar made his UFC debut in 2008 against Frank Mir at UFC 81.  Lesnar ended up being submitted by Mir, but not before landing some vicious shots, one of which costed him a point for striking the back of the head.  At UFC 82 Lesnar fought Heath Herring and won a unanimous decision after controlling the entire fight from start to finish.

On November 15, 2008 Brock Lesnar became the UFC heavyweight champion after defeating hall of famer Randy Couture.  The second round TKO of Couture propelled Lesnar to the top of the mma world and validated Lesnar as a professional fighter.

Lesnar has already caused quite a stir in the world of MMA.  His size, strength and athleticism will be tough to overcome once he becomes a more seasoned fighter.  He recently announced a scheduled rematch against Frank Mir but due to a training injury Mir suffered early in his camp, the fight has been postponed.
